Quick and Inexpensive Room Update

July 29, 2013 by superadmin

Traditional Case Piece with Traditional DisplayTraditional Bookcase with large, contemporary items in one hue.As you know, Interiors ReImagined likes to use pieces you already have.  You can update or change the mood of a room by simply changing accessories.  In this example a traditional style bookcase with a traditional display of multiple items takes on a more contemporary look by using large scale accessories in different shades of the same hue.

Scale and color make all the difference with a few pieces purchased at the local box store and supplemented with things you already own.

At a later date we may want to paint the piece, giving it a new life one more time.

DECORATING IN A DAY

July 1, 2012 by superadmin

Is decorating your living space really an important item on your to-do list?  Is it really necessary to reconsider your surroundings more often than every two, five or ten years?  With jobs, family, and basic household chores how does decorating find a spot on the list?  Anyway, who has the time and money to redecorate?

If your home doesn’t greet your return with warmth and beauty, you are robbing yourself of wonderful spiritual renewal that will help you to complete the other tasks in your ife with greater pleasure.  As your eye moves around your space it should rest on things you enjoy, colors that sooth, textures that stimulate.  Artwork, photos, furniture and accessories should be positioned and lit to create an atmosphere that is yours alone.

Searching for the way to launch a career in interior decorating I was thrilled to find the Interior Redecorators Network (www.interiorredecoratorsnetwork.com) founded by Lauri Ward in the 1980’s with her first book, Use what you have Decorating.  Lauri has trained hundreds of decorators in her method.  Decorating in a day using what you already have and love, editing where necessary, has enhanced the homes of clients by helping them to correct some of the most common decorating mistakes.  The method is fun, inspiring and economical.  Clients participate in the process, usually working on one room at a time.  The result is a space that is cohesive, balanced and reflects the client’s individual taste.

A beautiful, welcoming home has little to do with available budget to buy furnishings and accessories.  It is the care and attention given to the space, taking into account the needs and interests of those living there that make the difference.  Very often a professional eye can make all the difference.  We would love to help you see your home in a beautiful new light.

Furniture, artwork and lighting in perfect balance create a relaxing scene.

Sea Shore Decor

June 19, 2012 by superadmin

The wonderful thing about decorating with things clients already have is working with different, individual styles.  Everyone has their own vibe and interpretation of a visual concept.  Making the best of that individual style is the exciting part of decorating for Interiors ReImagined LLC.

While vacationing in Cape Cod last week I found a great example of how differently a concept can be interpreted. The photos attached show tow looks for sea shore spaces; both use terrific original artwork and craft but the result is completely different.

Outdoor Retreats

Garden Retreat

We can all picture a cold winter night, a comfortable chair, a glowing fire and a good book to read.  Summer, however, will be upon us; what will be our warm weather image?  I have been finding outdoor spaces to sit for a few minutes or longer.  These are spaces to reflect, read or sip a cool drink; spaces to refresh and reinvigorate.  They may be found in unexpected places like shopping mall or small cafe.  You may want to create one of your own in your own back yard.

Architectural Digest Home Show

March 20, 2012 by superadmin

A fabulous day at the AD Home Show. Beautiful furnishings crafted domestically were featured. Looking at all these wonderful things can really spur the imagination. Take a old piece of furniture and paint it a bright color to add some excitement to your space. Or strip and bleach a table or case piece to find an interesting color beneath the old finish. Add some new hardware for a whole new look. Try taking a rug from the floor and hanging it on the wall for a unique piece of artwork. The ideas are endless. Let Interiors ReImagined help you find a new look for your space using the things you already have.

See pictures here.
